A Bit Of History.
Standish Sports and Uniforms has been providing school uniforms to the young people of Wigan since 1983. It was originally in Standish High Street, moving to the Standish Centre in 2010, where we are now, albeit in a larger unit to accommodate our growing business. A second shop, Impressions, was opened in Golborne in 2015.
Both shops now offer high quality products and excellent customer service and remain family run. Caeryn Collins who bought into the business in 2010 runs the Standish shop and her daughter Katie, runs the Golborne shop, Impressions.
Caeryn is a mother of three, and has personally bought, washed, and ironed (over and over) a mountain of uniforms, and continues to do so, as the middle child is at secondary school and the youngest is currently in primary school. She dislikes washing and ironing and so makes it a business priority to source garments that are easy to wash and preferably non-iron.
Prior to Standish Sports and Uniforms she owned and ran a children’s designer dress agency in Standish. She believes that busy parents want good quality, robust uniforms and need a range of easy ways to buy them.
Katie has a degree in Children’s Studies. After graduation she returned to Wigan to work in the family business and not long after opened the Golborne Shop – Impressions. She loves being part of the family run business.
